Day One - Hong Kong, here we come!

The days of waiting was finally here. There we were finally at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 that late Sunday morning. 39 of us and 5 teachers were anxiously waiting for our first flight to Hong Kong for our EL Department inaugural Learning Journey where we would spend the next 7 days with our classmates, school mates and teachers without our parents and family.

A last minute briefing on safety and procedures before we board SIA flight to Hong Kong.

After our passports were  checked at the immigration counter, we all waved good bye to a throng of family members and relatives who were standing anxiously outside the departure gate. Then off we went inside the SIA Aeroplane where two gracious kebaya-clad air-stewardess were waiting us to show us our seats.

For some of us it was a first experience taking the aeroplane. A few even eagerly requested for windowseats to catch the beautiful view of the clouds in the sky. After getting our seats, our teachers gave us advice on how to keep our luggage in the compartment above us. Mdm Rohana then came to remind us that we might experience cabin pressure during landing and take off which might hurt our ears. She suggested that we massaged  our ears to relieve the pain or swallow our saliva, or even suck some sweets.

Soon enough most of us were very occupied with the fantastic personal entertainment system provided by the airline. There were a variety of choices - such as games, music, movies and TV shows. For some of us we were spoilt for choice. So engrossed were we by the entertainment on board that time flew and before we knew it, we arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport.
Our first dinner in Hong Kong, at a Chinese Muslim Restaurant.
Our first dinner in Hong Kong, yum, yum but no one touched the stir-fried brinjal.

Our first view of the city skyline of Hong Kong - beautiful and mesmerising.
So... Hong Kong, here we come...all 45 of us.

  1. Why is it that no one took photos of the hotel we lived in?
